The best coffee I have ever had was from an Ethiopian bean. A client brought us back a large freezerbag full and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't been able to find the like since.

Whittard sometimes carry this great bean, Guatemalan Elephant. It's high roasted (not quite full French) and makes the smoothest espresso and cappuccino known to man. It also has enough body to make a good cafetiere coffee. It's smooth, long on the tongue, with a beautiful chocolate after-kick that just finishes it off perfectly.

I spent six years working in a coffee store on and off. I could talk about various roasts and flavours till the cows came home - Guatemalan Elephant was always a firm favourite, so much so we used it when we were demoing machines because it was the one coffee we could rely on.

Though despite all that my weapon of choice is a nice mug of Assam tea. I couldn't function without my tea.

Starbucks came under criticism a while back for intentionally increasing the amount of caffeine in their coffee. The little double-shots they sell at the gas station have 154 mg of caffeine... that's more than double a mountain dew, and way more per oz. It's kind of like coffee heroin.

StarBucks is CRAP coffee... anything I have ever tried from there has tasted like chalk.

I don't "DO" flavors so my measure of your coffee is how well it tastes black.

No coffee, no work. Still cant explain why, but it seems I just dont work without my morning, evening and eventually my afterdinner coffee.
Do prefer the spanish cafe con leche, but a solid mug of black coffee will get me rocking in the morning.

Btw: When will starbucks open i Denmark?

My favorite coffee would be Starbucks Sumatra. I buy it at Starbucks and take it home and brew it.

Just a simple coffee with D milk, and some sugar.

True, McDonalds has some good coffee too! I can't stand Starbucks though (HERESY!) It always tastes burnt to me. I heard that it's because they double roast their beans. Can anyone vouch for that?

As for the hazlenut thing, I have no idea. But it doesn't surprise me.

Talking about the Dunk' Donuts coffee; I hate to say it but McDonald's has some damned good coffee too. It's brewed at just the right strength for me and it's typically accompanied by a sausage biscuit. Yum!

I'm always in love with anything that has Hazelnut, which incidentally tastes absolutely nothing like any hazelnuts I've ever eaten. Any reasons that anyone knows?

Mmmm. I'm a huge espresso fan (Velvet Hammer), but have become a Toddy guy in the last year (cold pressed coffee). Low acid, smooth taste, drink it hot or cold. It takes 24 hours to brew a good batch, but a batch will last you 2 weeks in the fridge and a double shot in the morning is exactly what the doctor ordered. I'm not going to post a link because this isn't a shameless plug, but if you love coffee (and hate gut rot), I highly recommend cold brew coffee!

Good call on the Dunkin' Donuts. I'm sure coffee snobs will scoff, maybe rightfully so, but when I lived in New England I'd drink it all the time. Loved it, makes me nostalgic thinking about it.

I typically buy Kenya AA beans from the local coffee shop, grind, brew and drink. I'll go with Southern Pecan or Java Monkey from time to time.

Y'all are gonna think I'm weaksauce, but I think Dunkin' Donuts coffee is really really good. It may not be "the best" but it's the regular coffee of choice in my house.

Out of interest, what are the flavours people prefer of coffee and also the blend you prefer along with what type (cappucino, espresso, latte). For me java is good and I love arabic blends - basically anything over 3 strength is usually brewing as I like my coffee strong. As far as flavours go the clear winner for me is vanilla. I like caramel mixes too, but vanilla is the top. My type has to be cappucino. In the day I tend to drink latte mixes though as I find too many cappucinos are just a bit of over kill through the day.
