I have a long, long week of work ahead of me and for some reason, it always feels a little better when I have some comforting food to help me along. So I just made a loaf of Super Banana Bread (best you'll ever eat, I swear, though it's more like banana cake) and as it's cooling, I'm making some piping hot orange pekoe tea with creamy evap milk. Together, they're going to make today's work a lot more bearable.

What are your comfort/make-work-not-so-awful foods?

My ultimate comfort food is meatloaf with corn and mashed potatoes! I'm also partial to pot roasts as a comfort food.

For me, chicken soup is an all around comfort food, any time of year. I especially like it with a matzo ball in it.

Other than than, give me a huge plate of mashed potatoes.

Ice Cream. A huge bowl of ice cream. :)

Fish & Chips

My mom's red beans and rice. Unbeatable.

Shrimp Fried Rice. Yeah, I'm a bit odd.

Chicken soup. Besides tasting yummy and all the cozy memories that goes with it, an added perk is that it makes the whole house smell great when cooking!

Mmmm, Ozone, actually that sounds so good.

Garlic mashed potatoes for sure.

Following Andrew's tact, I'd say scampi and chips... but I have a thing for carrot cake, too. And that thing is my obsession with its deliciousnesses.

My comfort foods are ice cream, dark chocolate, beancurd soup and Latte.

Cinnamon toast. I just had to have some a couple of nights ago; it was one of those "need comfort food" times.

@dreamweaver

Cinnamon toast.

Cinnamon is a stress-beater spice. I think I will try.

Sorbet/Sherbert. Give me a quart and just walk away.
