Talking to Mike and Tyme it is crazy to hear the foods they have never tried. A typical conversation might go like this.
Scrivs: I think I'm going to eat an apple.
Mike: What? Never had an apple before.
Scrivs: ...
Okay, not with an apple, but Tyme has yet to have lobster and I just found out Mike has never had a cuban sandwich. I can't think of a food that a ton of others have had that I haven't. With my mom being white and my dad black we always had a huge mixture of different foods growing up so I got a taste of everything. Add to the fact that Florida is a huge melting pot of culture and you can almost find any type of food you want somewhere.
So are there any types of foods that your friends have had that you haven't?

My wife is from Brazil and I have never tried feijoada (altho I am looking to change that next Saturday at a feijoada party).
Picanha on the other hand is something she made me try and is now my all time favorite type/preparation of meat/steak.

Mmm I heart picanha.
I have never had chicken feet. It's a common dish at Chinese dim sum and well, maybe I'm not strange for not having it but I watch my parents put whole feet in their mouths and spit out only the bones.
You're welcome in advance for the visual.

Pigs feet. Seriously, WAY too many people down here have eaten pigs feet. Even more so in Puerto Rico. I don't know, I guess I never was much for looking at the filthiest part of that animal (next to the colorectal region) and saying "yum".

Pig's feet is good though, basically tastes like ham. I think it's the thought and presentation that pushes people away.

Tripe... I've been around people who wolf it down like mad (mainly in Menudo), but never had the cajones to take a bite.

Up until a little while ago, neither of my parents had ever eaten rice & beans. That's incomprehensible to me.
Living in a country I didn't grow up in, I'm faced with this kind of thing everyday: someone will mention a food, I'll interject, "what???", and then I'll be treated to 5 minutes of surprised exclamation over how it's impossible that I haven't had it. I'm trying to be adventurous.

The one food (dish) I enjoy but seems no one I know has tried, or has even heard of in some cases, is ceviche.
Not much I can think of the other way though. Usually it's more a case of their favoring a restaurant that I've never been to.

I've only had ceviche twice and, though I enjoy both fish & sushi, I just don't like it. I've been told to try it again, and so I will. Maybe I can make myself like it!

Mmm, I do love ceviche. Not sure if I've had exactly the authentic kind, but the stuff I've had is really good!

I've never had... duck!
I just can't bring myself to eat it.

Mike said the other day he was having something noodlish and Combos. I thought he meant noodles and a sandwich.
Never been to Quinzo's. Or had Starbucks coffee. The smell of chitterlings cooking nauseates me to the point I could never eat it. Or sushi. I could really go on and on about the things I never had but I'm glad about that in a twisted way.
Gives me so much more to experience. :)
