In the spirit of these food threads asking for your favorites and things you've never tried...
Is there something out there that you know for a FACT you will never want to have pass your lips?
The NUMBER ONE item I will NEVER touch... Cuitlacoche
Cuitlacoche is a black fungus that infects corn fields, making the kernels bulbous and swollen as they fill with spores.
Looks TASTY...

I grew up around corn fields. I have seen the black spores stuff in the field. I can't imagine anyone ever thinking, "hmm, wonder how that stuff tastes?".
That would definitely be near the top of my list.
Cuitlacoche
Y'all are going to think I am wierd but pizza makes me gag just thinking about it. It is so nasty.

Hey... I love Cuitlacoche. It's awesome in corn soup. You guys don't know what you're missing. Seriously.
I'd have to second ericjohnson on this one. There's no way I'm eating balut.

Old topic now, but...Century Egg. One of my close friends, this wacky Chinese guy, swears by it, but yeah...eww. His comment that endorsed it was that it "smells like shit, but tastes great!" Then he felt the need to rephrase it to, "No, smell like dead corpse--still taste great!"

Anything with mushrooms. I can't stand the taste of them, and they look disgusting.

leliathomas... I saw that on TV the other day but it was called the Thousand-Year Old egg and he was eating it alongside Stinky Tofu...
He almost threw up.

Hear hear on the 'shrooms. They're fungus. They're decay. They're horrid.
Things that live in the water can also stay well away from my mouth.

Anything that has to do with weird parts of an animals body. Feet, tongue, brain, intestines..... and tomatoes. I don't mind tomato sauces, or ketchup, but whole tomatoes.... EW!
Aw you guys got to give mushrooms a chance! Cooked the right way, they are SO good. A little steak, onion and mushrooms with special sauce. Yummy!

Er, not nearly as gross as balut but mine are . . . raisins/sultanas.
Who thought "Yeah, let's take a grape suck the life out of it and then it will be real tasty!" Mmmm.
No Muesli for me for that very reason.
