Brian and I are actually pretty laid back about Valentine's Day, so we'll probably just get dinner on the way home and watch American Idol. :)
Anyone going all out on Valentine's Day? Or going all out to avoid Valentine's Day?
Oh, and Tyme...will you be my (other) Valentine? :)

I'm just going to cry. Lots of crying. Anyone want to be my valentine?
Ok, that wasn't desperate or anything...
In reality...I'm not doing a damn thing. It's not that I'm avoiding it, I just don't have someone special to share it with. That's all.

Me and the missus are going to Maggiano's in Tampa with some friends. We normally don't do anything but we heard this place is good so we're splurging for one day :)

I am going to continue the tradition that has got me through the last 24 years of my life - sitting at home, with a glass of wine (ok, so the drink was less alcoholic when I was younger), a DVD, and the company of my also-single flatmate. I think we might continue watching Bones this year (David Boreanez would never let us down).
Oh, and I am going to be spending the day avoiding looking one RLO in the eye at work, and then the other RLO in the eye at college.
*RLO = random lust object. Everywhere should have one

Tomorrow's the day I get back to my blog after taking a break, so I'm sending out a virtual valentine. Going all out there!
For my husband, who's been such a sweetheart during that break, a little ipod shuffle. He loves rock climbing -- and I'm hoping it'll be fun to have some music when he's up on the wall.
My friends, co-workers and kids? Chocolate. Of course!

It is a very commercialized holiday. But, at the same time, it all depends on what you do for Vday. I never went out and bought anything extravagant for my ex. I cooked dinner and we spent a night in. We just enjoyed each other's company. But then again, I did that like every night.

I will be giving my wife a different flower every hour on the hour, taking her to Cordy for the day, movie, dinner out, giving her favorite chocolate and a cute stuffed animal I found.
Also she has a special valentine bouquet arriving tomorrow.
I try to do everything I can on the day to assure her that she's my one and only.

I've been to the Maggiano's in St. Louis -- it's great. You may consider skipping lunch though.
My boyfriend and I have been at odds for the past few days. Let me rephrase, my boyfriend has been "in the doghouse" for the past few days.
That said, I don't know what he has planned, but I hope it's enough to make me forget what an ass he's been lately.

Wooing lucky women.
Nothing I don't do any other day of the year. Valentine's Day is just a commercial holiday to be ignored.

Eh! Nothing.
Hubby and I don't really do anything out of this world on V-day.
Our day for all that mooshie stuff is on our Wedding Anniversary day. =)
A big hug and a kiss is plenty for us on V-day.
I think V-day is way overrated...

But first, Josue, how about making us all some drinks?
Anyway, commercial or not, I'm all for telling people how much I like them as often as I can without seeming like a total scary weirdo. The world can be a bleak place, especially in February. What better time to unleash the chocolate and the expressions of love than in the middle of the endless snowstorm that is winter?

That's really sweet James. She had better rock your world for that effort.

I've written about it every year on my blog
Cooper on Valentines Dayt
This may be cheating.
I don't believe in it.
It makes it hard when someone gives you something, so I may be a little bit of a hypocrite in that I do not refuse gifts.

Replace the "boyfriend" with "husband" in the above, and that's how it is here too, except the second part is probably a lost cause. I did get the kids some "I love you" stuff, and I got him something too, but other than that, eh? Not "doing" anything other than the normal crazy Wednesday afternoon/evening stuff. I think it's overrated too, but that may be due to the fact that I am (was) a romantic person, but I'm married to one who doesn't have a bone like that in his body, so all of my "romanticalness" has truly flown the coop by this time.

j-mathias - how sweet are you???? omg...very nice
Saint Valentine was clubbed to death because he continued to perform marraige ceremonies for young people in Rome who could not afford the tax that the Roman goverment had imposed on any new marriages. He was condemned to death because he let young people in love cement thier marraige without paying the tax to Rome. Saint Valentine died for love. **awwww** how tragically disturbing...

Haha, I didn't answer the question. This year more than any other I'm missing the planning I used to do for V-Day. Honestly it's no different than any other day (because planning Just Because days are more fun) but I miss the element of surprise. Seeing the smile on his face. Knowing I made someone happy. I miss that.

Awesome Josh: You know I'm your valentine forever.
And I've got no plans. We're both broke, and he has to work, so I'm home with my parents. Besides. I have a huge math test on Thursday to study for.

Indian food and snuggling. Suspiciously similar to Christmas.
The difference? No presents.
Oh, and we're going to celebrate our love by going to see Richard III at the Shakespeare Theatre in DC. That's what every romance needs; regicide and puns.

Abi: that is what every romance needs!
Asif and I are having his sister and her boyfriend over for dinner, and then I'm giving him a couple of presents. (I don't think I'm getting any presents, but I'm not particularly worried about it. This is the man who said to me a week ago, "I'm getting you roses but not till the 15th because then they'll be cheaper.")
I'm getting him a 120GB USB powered portable hard drive for his MacBook, because nothing says "I love you" like more storage space. And then, if he doesn't piss me off, I will be giving him this ring and asking him to marry me. 'Cuz we can do that up here. :)

Awww, congratulations to David (and Asif) ! That's a beautiful ring. I proposed to my girl on the back of an iPod. Apple products are clearly the love tokens of the new millienium.
As for Valentine's Day, my girlfriend is leaving to go back to Vancouver, so I'm planning a date with an ice cream cake that says "Ass-tastic Valentine" on it. There may be weeping. Also, knitting. And probably Buffy.

Thanks everyone, for all your good wishes! Sorry Cooper, the lace scarf was for my mother for Christmas (yeah, really, six weeks late but who's counting?...not to worry though, he's gotten plenty of knitted gifts from me, he's in no way deprived!

Nothing special will happen here, other than the fact that I bought myself a rose, a good book, a DVD, and a CD, to treat myself...from me to me...with love.
