A good friend of mine Alicia was charged with assault with intent to kill today.
Overall, she was a really good kid in band. Always talking with everyone, spaced out every now and then during field practice, but all-in-all did what she was told. Never talked back or acted anything like the other kids in band who you swear would end up shooting someone three times in the head.
This is pretty fucked up.

I've learned throughout the years that no matter how well you know someone, we all have a dark side and its how we channel that dark side that dictates how our lives end up.
I'm sorry to hear it. It's totally screwed up when a friend does something like that. My heart goes out to you, and to her. Because something is very not right in her life. :-/ My thoughts are with you man.

Wow, 3 shots to the head is pretty hardcore. That is way more than jealousy!

She's 19 and only a junior in high school? Is that right?

I knew a guy at an old job that I talked to everyday and me and him joked around with other workers all the time. One day some cops came in and took him away, turns out him and 2 friends attacked a guy at a bus stop and killed him by shanking him 13 times in the chest for no reason.
You never really know people it seems.

My ... condolences. Times like these you wish she had no access to a gun. :(

@Alday: I'm sorry, shanking is stabbing right?

I agree, you never know who someone is. Back in 9th grade a person who sat across from me and talked with me often at lunch ended up raping and killing a middle school-age girl.

I used to work in a meat market right after high school. Nicest old man worked as the butcher. One day, they came and arrested him. He had killed his wife weeks before and was keeping her in a deep freeze. His landlord got suspicious, let himself in and found her.
It's really astonishing what people are capable of doing. I'm sorry to hear about this young girl. It's so unnecessary.

Wow. Talk about timing for this thread. The guy living downstairs from us -- he creepy, silent, loner type -- just got a visit from people at his job because he hadn't shown up in a few days. They got into his place (door was unlocked) and found trash so high it would scare a roach, mildew so thick it was more like "sline" and bags of drugs all over the floor.
And to think, I live in a "nice" neighborhood.
Anyway, sorry to hear about your friend. I had a friend -- or rather, a good acquaintance -- in 10th grade who I saw a year later in the news, arrested for vehicular manslaughter after he and a friend stole a truck from an old man, then ran him over with it. He was 17, I think, when this happened.

Times like these you wish she had no access to a gun.
Given that it's apparent that she had zero history of such behavior, how would one prevent this person from obtaining a gun outside of a 100% ban on all weapons?
Sorry to hear about your friend dook... it really sucks when people do crap like this.

It's a wish.
Like most wishes done in hindsight ... in can never happen.
