What can you say about psychological trainings?
What kinds of them do you know?
In what did you participated?
Why are they useful for a person?
I think that it is a very interesting topic for discussion.

I use anchoring in addition to something similar to psychological training. To reduce the emotional impacts of possible setbacks (when it does happen) so that it is easier to pick myself up and get right back into the game. I am not really sure of the benefits of going through the positives outcomes and dissecting my own strengths in order to get out of the glut. It feels ignorant to deny the reality of the fact that I suffered a blow or I am injured.
Anchoring is placed as a last resort shortcut, unexpected events or stressful situations.

I participate in different trainings for nearly 2 years.
One or two trainings per month.
There were trainings directed on:
- sociability
- creativity
- NLP
- hard trainings
The most interesting are hard trainings as they are connected with some very difficult life situations, even with a death.
Do you know any trainings from this group??

Hi KVA,
I guess I would differentiate between psychological training and personal development training. The first I see as therapy based i.e. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or Psychotherapy, the second I see as becoming more conscious in your choices and increasing your skills to live your life more as you would like (which of course therapy can help with too).
I am a certified practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) - and yes that's a whole other discussion. I am also qualified as a corporate trainer (CIPD) and although this would not be traditionally looked upon as what you call psychological training it does actually offer a greater insight into the various stages and styles of learning - which I am greatly intrigued by.
In terms of your 'Hard Trainings' - I'm really interested in what you mean by this. Are there any links you have?
I have trained in working with grief/loss using the DABDA model:
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
But I've never heard it called Hard Training if that's the same kind of thing?
@Mike: Does that make it any clearer?
Interesting post.

I think trainings that focus on the mind of workers and social interactions are absolutely crucial in some work environments. I've been a public school teacher since 1997 and have participated in many trainings of this sort. If I owned my own company, I would intersperse normal trainings with these because distorted thinking affects productivity.
I also really like the Meyers-Briggs inventory testing. It's not really a training but understanding that I was an INFP through that test helped me see the kinds of careers I would be most happy at. Here's a link to find out what you are:

I don't know what 'hard training' means. I have been a part of training about clinical social work and foster care / Child Protective services. A large part of this was learning and feeling the sense of empathy that various extremely significant losses and changes would be experieced by children. This is the closest I can come up with.

Hard trainings...
Hmm, I will better give an example:
Training "Submarine".
Imagine that you and 8 other people are sitting in the submarine somewhere in the ocean.
And your submarine is going to be destroyed after next 30 minutes.
You need to decide who are three people that should survive?
You? Your friend? Have you a frined here?
Why should you survive?
Can you persuade others to help you?
If you are not in the final three people after 30 minutes so you are dead.
Yes, imagine that you won't be able to see your family and friends again. You won't be able to visit your favourite place or to listen to the favourite singer. You won't be able to fall in love more and more...
So, it is a hard training as it is connected with deep psychology, questions of death and life, decisions about the lifes of other people...
I've participated in such training this Friday. To my mind it is very important to think about all aspects from the training.
I can say that I sank...

@KVA: I think I didn't clearly understand this or your other note about college major because both concepts need to be more clearly explained, please. I'm reading and sometimes commenting from the US.

@auburn: and do you understand it now?
Yes, I think that one of the main problems is some difference in the definitions among countries.
As "marketologist"=expert of marketing.
And what is about trainings, then there are a lot of differences as we have some directions that are represented only in Russia and CSU...
Ask questions, I will answer them, if I can. :)
