What's the worst bad habit you have, that you would like to wake up one morning without?
For me, it's procrastination. I would love to wake up one morning and be a "go-getter," but I don't see that happening without serious intervention. It's just so easy to not do anything until the last minute.
(And yes I'm procrastinating right now... I should be studying for a Biology test.)

Sometime in the past year (probably work-stress related), I started unconsciously clenching my teeth and rubbing them together--not actually grinding them, but not that far off either. When I catch myself doing it, I stop myself, but I feel like that's probably only 20% of the time. Gah.

Eating chocolate instead of broccoli. Oh, wait a minute. That's a GOOD habit.
Let's see -- losing my temper with my kids would have to be the one habit I'd love to get rid of. Yelling without a filter.

Saying the not-so-obligatory "sorry" to people. Happens because I feel I'm completely at fault for something, even when it fact I'm not.

Biting my nails. Grinding my teeth. Mumbling. Cracking my knuckles and my neck.

Lisa: Oh that it does, especially after long hours in front of the computer or writing something. How could anyone not do it. :)

Sleeping very irregularly.
EDIT: By that I mean the times and durations of rest, of course.

Definitely procrastination. But it works out because I seem to do my best work under pressure.

Oh gosh... I'm sure I have a lot of bad habits! LOL
Eating food with too much salt would be the worst though. That's a horrible habit. I have high blood pressure so I have to watch how much salt I eat now. It sucks because I'm Mexican and Mexican food has lots of salt! Grrr...
Oh well...

Procrastination and the neck-cracking. Old football injury makes my neck sound like an AK-47. But it does feel good.

I have a nervous habit where I simply cannot stop myself from picking at my right thumb. It's the only finger on my hands that is covered past the knuckle with a thick callus.
It drives me mad and I've tried covering my thumb but I pick my way through whatever I cover it with.

Matthew, I do that all the time, although it's not when I'm nervous or anything. I have no idea why I do it.

Chewing my labret piercing (lip piercing) is about my worst one, I do intermitant nail biting but have that almost under control. My labert on the other hands gets a fair bit of chomping so much so I often have to take it out when concentrating as I apparently sound like a metal washing machine on over drive... not attractive.
I drink coffee (a lot) and smoke so really I guess those are bad habits - maybe more addictions than habits.

Let's see, habits I'd love to drop:
* Eating too much salt, like BonitainPink. It just tastes good. Apparently, though, according to my doctor, my high blood pressure doesn't care how good salt tastes. I need to cut back.
* Nail biting. I can't count how many times I've ended up with a mild infection on a fingertip from my incessant fingernail biting.
* Snapping out witty remarks at people before thinking if they'll come across as funny or hurtful. Like others above, I need a filter for my mouth, or perhaps some way to slow it down. Duct tape might be a solution, but I'd look rather peculiar.
* Going all out on a new hobby or project just to lose momentum later on and basically quit. Really, *really* need to stop doing this.

Playing with my nose while sitting around. Not necessairly picking, just scratching or stuff like that. I guess becoming very aware of the habit is the key.
I used to say 'snap' a lot. When I went on vacation with my brother (bigger than I) I had him punch me every time I said it.
Broke that habit pretty quickly.

Bad habits galore, here. Smoking and drinking too much coffee are on the list. Shopping at garage sales and thrift stores when I know I don't financially need to. Wait! That's too much fun to call an addiction or bad habit! I need to smile more and not be so very intense all the time.

i like red meat too much. As well as fast food. I've cut back on smoking and drinking, I don't do drugs, I drink water, but I can't let go of those food vices.

Oh yeah, and drinking too much, smoking while im drinking, and the craving to smoke a bowl every once in a while. I wish i could wake up and have that part of my life in moderation. Hmmmm, maybe this is why my ass is thicker..... =)
