The problem is that I've been investigating points and many are given away for the hell of it.

I've been giving mine away as soon as I get them (or soon after) because I just, well... Don't want to hoarde them. I don't give them away just randomly - the normal criteria are something someone's said has made me smile or they've made a particularly pertinent point. I want more points so I can give them away, but I don't like to actually get points if that makes sense.

So I totally sympathise with you and add my voice to the note - who deserves my (current) last point?

My problem: Lately I haven't had the time to really read around to find the quality, so ...?

Maybe I'll just give them to Tyme and let her redistribute them?

And see, that works both ways, so when you post something that makes me smile, I'll give You points, which you can then use to encourage other people when they make you smile. If we could all work off of that principle, or at least a good portion of us, then these happy points will all make us happier people.

So I would like some points so that I can make some people happy, both by writing happy stuff and rewarding points.

Interesting that no one came out and said blatantly "give 'em here".

I have got no reason for you to give me points. All I have is what I write and whether you like what I write.

I always figured I could give points to whomever I chose, not knowing that it required that I have points in the first place. My question is, who had the original points to give? Or do points get created whenever a mod wants them?

Two alternate reasons for just giving you points:

1. I was trying to find some good use for my last 2 points...I've decided that trying to get you into second place is a pretty good use. </evil grin>

2. I was trying to find some good use for my last 2 points...and since you are already trying to find good uses for your points...perhaps you could also find some good uses for a couple of my points. Thanks for helping me out old man.
