Women call me sweetie and doll. Guys call me pookie, sweetheart, baby, boo, love, doll...long list there.

Just Oli really these days... And that's just a shortening from my real name no nothing really magical there...

I use it so much, I'm considering officially changing from Oliver to Oli.

My family calls me Piggy. :)

I was Yoda from when I was born until I was about 1. My parents hadn't picked a name for me, and I was bald and had huge ears when born, so they just called me Yoda.

The closest I ever came to having a nickname is AC. In my job whenever you end an interphone transmission you have to give your operating initials (mine are AC) so people often just call each other by those initials.

The rest of my friends just call me Carmody. My entire life I have craved a real nickname :(

Just Tam over here really (actually prefer it to my full name now) - had old nickname of Fred but now it's Tam unless online and the karmatosed thing.

First of all there's Jen which is short for Jennifer.

Well, my kickball name is "Jen at Work" (you know, like "Land Down Under")
My friends from my bartending job call me "Mom"
Internet friends call me "alt" or Alt.jen because we have another friend named Jen, and the "alt" just stuck...

No nicknames really, except 'Raven' which is the direct English translation of my Icelandic name. That's something I promote myself, as non-Icelanders sometimes have serious difficulty pronouncing "Hrafn".

I don't really have anything original. Never have... I guess my personality doesn't lend itself to nicknaming. :(

I'm Erin, sometimes shortened to Er. I get called Er-een by my Spanish-speaking friends, even when they speak English. My boyfriend sometimes calls me Eli (El-ee), an abbreviation of my middle name. There are a few pet names thrown in there, too, like mi amor and princesa. And not just my boyfriend uses them. (I love Costa Rican culture.)

I don't have a nickname but want one! I would pick the name "Kalah" which translated from Hebrew is my real name.

For some reason nicknames have never stuck. People try but they never work. Very, very occasionally I'm ClarLou to my family, or Little One. Online I'm Cas and that's actually starting to stick offline as well for some people.

Some people still call me weasel on my tennis team. I guess it started as Weasley (like from Harry Potter) and then they changed it to weasel.

That's it that I know of.

I give myself different nicknames and friends and family always find it fun and will call me by my self-created nicknames. ;)

Ed works for me. Though I've been known simply as "D" for people who think that Ed is way too common.

Other than that, "Hey you!!" also works. :)

And I'm sure there are 10 more I can't remember.

I've been called a lot of things, but I don't really have a nickname.

Do names like Nerdy Nathan Jello-head count? Lots of those as a dorky kid in elementary school, but as the most cunning of dork's know, if you get a mohawk and act tough, you can be the most elite of dorks: punk rockers.

So I picked up Monk the Punk Rocker, which turned into Monk Rocker into Buddha Monk into just plain Buddha which gave way in later years to Nathan from which I derived ClickNathan as my little web designing business and recently others derived Clickety Clack from that.

But these days I feel silly even calling myself Nate, so I just say "Hi I'm Nathan" and inevitably some friend corrects me with one of the above.

my friend elsa calls me bob after sideshow bob from the simpsons, mainly because my present hairdo looks just like his, except its not red. she is also crazy, so in her head i may look like a simpsons' character as well, that girl scares me

Oh I like the chronological progression Abi, I'll go for that too:

- Boomer, Rundle, Rundlé (pronounced ROON - duh - LAY by my old golf team guys), Dizzle, and now JJ.

Nicknames tend to not stick with me either. My father used to call me Dollis when I was young (I don't really know why), but nowadays it is just plain Ollie (short for Oliver). Some people call me Ol, probably because it is really short, and I'm called Boss at work by a lot of staff, although I really hate that one.

Oh you just had to go one further.. Right. O is my new nickname.

I got the name debtguru because of my financial prowess. Sure, it started off as friends calling me "Penny Pincher" and telling me I was a bit of a know-it-all.... j/k

@Rich - Yeah, thank God my baby ears didn't become my adult ears. I was born 2 months before Empire was released.

I usually go by Vee, but sometimes get Germany, Lil Flip, Korea, Ok and of course, Vicky Secret.

I forgot, my bff calls me Piteria... all the time. It confuses people, lol.

I'm Josh Awesome, Awesome Josh, and some of my friends here, including Ness, call me Jarsh. When I first came to Cleveland and I was meeting all of Ness' friends, she introduced me to someone who thought she said Jarsh and it just kind of stuck.

@joshawesome I have a friend named Patrice, who we always called Trice. One day someone asked us why we kept calling her Trees and it just sort of stuck. That is now her name whether she likes it or not.

Ah, nicknames. I've gone by both Dave and David. More obscurely, I was Curly in college, Funny in high school, and Cheesy in elementary school. People who met me during these times still tend to use those names. I've also been referred to as D, Big D, and Ray, though none of those are used much now.

Most of my friends just call me by my name (Marco), or by my internet nickname "Griffith".

But since I live in Portugal... some of them pronounce it terribly... If you can think of a way to say Griffith badly, I've certainly heard it.
