I came across this question today and made me thoroughly think about what it is was that makes me want to get up everyday.
Formulating is bit difficult but I think it is the fact that I want to one day change something about the society. or at least start something that will change people in other words embed some of my ideals to at least someone other than me and leave a mark of my existence.
I am not much of ambitious, arrogant and self-righteous person, although I will admit this is all that ...
What about you?

"Why do you wake up each day?" - Usually it's because I need to use the bathroom. I'll lay in bed, being so comfortable but my body finally says "dude, get your ass up or I'll make you wet the bed", so I get up.
What I really dislike is during the week I have to get up early for work and need an alarm to do it but on the weekends when I can usually sleep in for a while, I'll actually wake up on my own without an alarm and about 10 minutes earlier then if the alarm had been set.
Yeah, my internal clock likes to mock me.

This is definitely a good question and honestly the only answer I have is:
And for some reason that makes all the sense in the world to me.

Bar the fact that the dogs tend to not like me not getting up ;) I get up because I honestly enjoy what I am doing. I also feel I'm not done yet although I am not overly sure what it is I'm not done doing.

Because there is too much stuff to get done. Motivation keeps me waking up every morning.

Because I want to know what is going to happen next.
It's your standard narrative drive really.

To improve and become a better person. To take what I learnt that previous day and put it into action.

I don't want to know what is going to happen next.
I want to create what is going to happen next.
Scrivs hit it dead on for me:

I think "I'm not finished yet" is the easy way out. ;) If it were true, Scrivs would have to be an immortal.
Personally, I get up in the mornings because I love my job and I love life, despite the curve balls both of them throw me once in a while. Simple as that.
